|MOLN Committee List|
The Membership Committee develops programs to recruit and maintain members and monitors the membership database. The committee meets 1-3 times a year most often via conference call. Each member spends time cultivating new members on a district level by attending a variety of nursing meetings, promoting membership, and facilitating networking within the membership.
This key committee keeps members informed and involved in public policy that relates to health care. The focus of the committee is advocacy and influencing public policy. The charge of the committee is to identify key legislative agenda issues, develop position papers on priority issues, and implement communication strategies to advance MOLN's positions.
The Policy and Advocacy Committee plays a key role in the sponsorship of the annual "Day at the Capitol" at the Minnesota Legislature. This event is informative for both members and students and an opportunity to interact with legislators. The Policy and Advocacy Committee also plans the Policy Internship held in the fall of the year which provides an opportunity for in depth education on legislative processes and how to affect public policy.
The Professional Development Committee is responsible for:
2019 Committee Chair: Melissa Rowe, BA, BSN, RN
