Call for nominations to the Board of Directors

Summer is almost here and that means it is time to start thinking about the opportunity to share your leadership skills with your professional association by volunteering to place your name on the ballot for the MOLN Board of Directors!

The following six positions will be open for new terms beginning in January 2020:

Secretary 2-year term - Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Be an MOLN and an AONL member in good standing.
  • Serve as a voting member of the board and executive committee.
  • Maintain records of the Board and ensure effective management of MOLN’s records.
  • Manage minutes of board meetings, membership meeting, and all committee day.
  • Preside at the meetings in the absence of the president and president elect/past president.
  • Facilitate review and approval process for bylaws and operating guideline revisions.
  • Provide oversight for organizational documents to assure accurate documentation of events and decisions.

The current incumbent is eligible to run for a second term.

Chair of Professional Development Committee 2-year term - Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Coordinating the annual spring and fall conferences and educational sessions such as the charge nurse boot camp. The committee reviews evaluations after each conference and uses the ideas from the members to continue to improve the conference topics and locations.
  • Coordinating educational scholarships awarded to members and new nurses. The committee raises the funds for the scholarships.
  • Recommending Star Award winners.

The current incumbent is eligible to run for a second term.

District A Representative to the Board 2-year term
The current incumbent has served two full terms so is not eligible to run for another term.

District C Representative to the Board 2-year term
The current incumbent is eligible to run for a second term.

District E Representative to the Board 2-year term
The current incumbent is eligible to run for a second term.

District G Representative to the Board 2-year term
The current incumbent is eligible to run for a second term

District representatives will function as a communication liaison with the district membership, encourage member representation on each of the standing committees to present district viewpoint, and recruit membership within their district.

Our organization is filled a wealth of talented, highly skilled leaders, but the strength of our organization is dependent upon each of us stepping up and providing leadership within the organization.
