The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) will formally launch a new study, The Future of Nursing 2020-2030, on March 20. The launch event will be live-streamed from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET. NAM will again partner with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to extend the vision for the nursing profession’s role in a future culture of health. Speakers at the launch event will include AONE member Susan B. Hassmiller, PhD, RN, director of the Campaign for Action and a senior adviser for nursing at RWJF, and Susan C. Reinhard, PhD, RN, senior vice president and director of AARP’s Public Policy Institute and chief strategist of the Center to Champion Nursing in America. They will discuss how the new initiative is building on the NAM’s first report, The Future of Nursing, Leading Change, Advancing Health. More information about the initiative, including a newly announced list of committee members, is available online. Participants who want to attend the March 20 event or stream it live should register online. (Campaign for Action story, 3/5/19)
