The Board of Directors consists of the officers (president, president-elect or past president, secretary/treasurer), seven district directors (one from each of the seven identified districts) and four committee chairs. All of these positions are elected by the members or appointed by the board. Terms of office for the secretary/treasurer, district directors and committee chairs are two years; only half of the board positions are replaced each year to assure continuity. The job of the Board is to develop strategic direction for the organization and to establish guidelines and procedures that support the functioning of MOLN. The Board members approve the annual budget, guide and approve actions of committees and task forces, and act as liaisons to the standing committees.
In addition to these whole Board responsibilities, each individual officer and elected Board member is responsible for acting as the informational conduit to and from his/her home district. This assures that the interests, concerns and ideas of members throughout the state are represented.
