Enhanced nurse licensure compact implemented

January 25 2018|Publication: eNews Update

The enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) took effect on Jan. 19 with 29 states participating. Colorado and New Mexico approved their membership on Jan. 18, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) reported. This means nurses with eNLC multistate licenses may begin practicing in all eNLC states. Nurses in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Wyoming must complete the compact license application for their state to obtain a multistate license. The eNLC allows RNs and LPN/VNs to maintain a multistate license allowing them to practice in person or via telehealth in both their home state and other eNLC states. (NCSBN news release, 1/19/18)
