Being a charge nurse is one of the most difficult and yet rewarding roles for nurses working in acute and long term care. Most nurses are not adequately prepared for the challenges thrust upon them when they first take on this important role. MOLN and Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) recognize the need for training specifically geared toward the charge nurse and are partnering to provide an educational experience for both new charge nurses and experienced charge nurses looking to refresh their basic leadership skills. The program will focus on the role of the charge nurse and participants will have opportunities to learn how to handle difficult situations, building an effective team and conflict resolution as well as practical strategies for survival as a charge nurse.

The hours spent in this training session may be used to meet continuing education requirements of the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
